Olaf Groth, Ph.D., is a global strategy, innovation, and venture development expert, adviser, capacity builder and thought-leader for disruptive and digital innovation. Following a 17-year run as an international market, venture operations, business and corporate development manager with global technology-driven multinationals, startups and consultancies, he now serves as CEO of Cambrian.ai, a globally networked advisory thinktank for the human-centric digital economy. Olaf also supports the development of future leaders for the cognitive era as Professor for Global Strategic Innovation & Economics and Program Director for Digital Futures at HULT-Ashridge International Business School, as well as adjunct instructor at Aalto Executive Education and a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley’s Roundtable on the International Economy. Olaf Groth joins Marc Pelaez, Paul Eichenberg and Kurt Hoppe on the advisory board:
Marc Pelaez is a Retired Rear Admiral in the United States Navy. Currently a private consultant to defense and commercial companies, Marc was previously Vice President of Engineering and later Vice President of Business and Technology Development for Newport News Shipbuilding from 1996 until 2001, when it was acquired by Northrop Grumman Corporation. From 1993 to 1996, Marc served as Chief of Naval Research; as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development, and Acquisition) from 1990 to 1993; and as various command assignments in the US Navy from 1968 to 1990. Marc has served on the Boards of both public and private companies. He is currently Lead Director of II-VI, Inc. (NASDAQ: IIVI). Marc has a broad background and understanding of technology and technology development, military procurement practices, and of management leadership and consulting skills as developed throughout his military and civilian careers.
Paul Eichenberg is a strategic consultant who develops and executes solutions for the complex challenges facing today’s automotive industry. Prior to consulting, Paul cultivated his expertise for two and a half decades working with Fortune 500 automotive suppliers. He’s the former Chief Strategist for Magna Electronics and Magna Powertrain. His leadership was an essential driver behind Magna’s successful pivot towards the optimization of the internal combustion engine, electric vehicles and hybrid technologies, advanced-driver assistance systems, and autonomous vehicles.
Kurt Hoppe is the former Global Head of Innovation, Smart Mobility, & Connected Car for General Motors, and is a versatile, high-energy executive with 15+ years’ experience leading global connected consumer product and service innovation, new business model creation, and go-to-market initiatives leveraging strategic partners. His methods inspire product teams to innovate at speed in ideating, designing, developing, marketing, and selling visionary services focused at the intersection of customer experience, connected IoT, analytics and AI/ML. Kurt specializes in Strategy, Innovation, Transformation, Business Development, and Product Marketing.
